All you need to know about the different types of headlight bulbs on the market today
To the uninitiated, we know that the world of bulbs is a confusing one. Not only do you have the difficult choice of which brand to go for, there's also all the bulb lingo to contend with.
There are many different categories of headlight bulbs, all of which can be found right here at PowerBulbs. The main categories are:

Look out for the flags on our products to help you make your decision. Here’s a breakdown of what each headlight bulb category means...
Performance bulbs are available in the form of both halogen and Xenon HID bulbs (be sure to check your manual to determine whether your car uses xenon HID or halogen before shopping for new headlight bulbs).
They are designed to improve safety on the road, as these car bulbs offer increased light output, and a longer light beam, resulting in increased reaction time when driving at night.
Our most popular performance products are the Philips X-treme Vision +130 and OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited. Both of these bulbs are designed to get the maximum amount of light on the road to improve vision when driving at night.
Styling headlight bulbs improve the look of your vehicle, usually by offering a whiter/bluer light. This line of products is very popular with the style-conscious driver. Xenon effect halogen lights are usually the main topic when it comes to styling bulbs for us.
Products like the Philips WhiteVision and OSRAM Cool Blue Intense are both designed to offer a crisp ice white light with a very subtle blue tint to oncoming traffic, while remaining road legal.
The Philips Diamond Vision range takes it a little bit further. The bulbs offer a strong blue/white light, but are not classed as road legal. Nonetheless, they are still extremely popular products throughout the world.
Xenon HID bulbs such as the Philips Xenon WhiteVision and OSRAM Xenarc Cool Blue Intense are both designed to offer a more blue light, rather than the standard white HID look.
Some of our customers are more interested in the lifetime of the product.
The Philips LongLife EcoVision is our best selling headlight bulb for this category. These bulbs last roughly 4 times longer than standard halogen bulbs and cover around 100,000 KM.
You may simply require standard replacement headlight bulbs if your existing headlight bulbs have blown. We stock Original Equipment quality headlight bulbs from leading manufacturers Philips and OSRAM, all of which are manufactured in Germany.
All our bulbs match the factory-fitted quality of your existing headlight bulbs so you can be assured you’re getting the highest standard of product on the market.
