Both ranges offer great styling benefits in comparison to a standard halogen, but how do they square up to each other in the ring?
Round One: Kelvin rating
It's a near miss for the WhiteVision, delivering up to 3700K in comparison to Cool Blue Intense's up to 4200K. This means the light produced by the Cool Blue Intense will be whiter and crisper than its opponents'.
However, don't forget that a Kelvin rating of over 3600K is still whiter than a standard halogen. With either of these bulbs, you'll achieve that stylish look on the road that you're after.

Round Two: Light on the road
Both bulbs produce more light on the road in comparison to a standard halogen, so if you pick either the OSRAM Cool Blue Intense or the Philips WhiteVision, you'll benefit from being able to see further on the road.
But, the Cool Blue Intense takes the blow, as its 20% more light than standard is no match for the power of WhiteVision's 60%.

Round Three: Road legality
It's the final round and tensions are high! Let's take a look at road legality, a big factor in deciding which styling bulb to go for.
Halogen bulbs over a certain colour temperature are not classed as road legal and are designed for off-road use only. This is because the light produced can dazzle other drivers and therefore make them unsafe to use on the road. Philips and OSRAM are constantly working out the best ways to provide drivers with the whitest, most stylish light, without compromising on safety.
Whilst both bulbs pack a pretty mean punch when it comes to Kelvin ratings, they are actually both road legal, bringing together the best bits of style and safety together in one bulb. Although the WhiteVision has a Kelvin rating of 4300K - a temperature normally classed as non-road legal - Philips' specialist technology has managed to produce what they call 'the first road legal intense white light'.
