(The error lamp indicates whether the battery is correctly connected, while the device’s reverse polarity protection will ensure no harm comes to the battery/charger.) It is then a simple matter of selecting the relevant battery type using the MODE button and following the 8-step process displayed on the device, then disconnecting when finished.
